2019

 

  • June- Crescent City Noire- New Orleans Black Heritage Tour hosted by CCI's Founder, Dr. Joyce M. Jackson at the Inaugural National Association for Black Veterinarians Conference. The tour included a taste of historical neighborhoods and traditional architecture with conversations about all traditions which makes New Orleans so famous!

  • February- Gallery viewing and conversation with the artist for "Sounds of Silence and Freedom Dance by Photographer Eric Waters. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2018

  • October-  4th Annual Louisiana Folklife Month Tradition Bearer Ceremony. Celebrating Cultural Crossroads Inc. 20th year of service by honoring their 2018 Tradition Bearer, Baton Rouge's R&B/Blues singer April "Sexy Red" Jackson". Also, in collaboration with the National Endowment for the Arts, Blues Singer and Keyboardist Henry Gray was presented with a National Heritage Fellowship Award. 

  • February - Louisiana State Archives Black History Month Exhibit "We the People - the Works of Malaika Favorite"

  • December - New Orleans presentation of the San D'A Academy troupe from Jacmel, Haiti in collaboration with the Friends of Gainesville.

Dr. Joyce Marie Jackson served as curator for this exhibition, showing historical photos from the Fazendeville community, that was leveled due to eminent domain in 1964.  It sat at the site where the Battle of New Orleans was fought, displacing the entire community, including families and members of the original Battleground Baptist Church.
